Ruger

Hi! My name is Ruger. I am a neutered male Hound mix, probably born around February 2022. I was surrendered to the sanctuary due to some behavioral issues. But don't worry, we are working on them! Currently, I am being fostered by one of our trainers, and am learning how to respect boundaries, communicate clearly, and get along with others. I take a lot time to warm up to new people and still have trouble being confident in my own skin. When I am comfortable though, I'm a typical hound dog! I like to talk a lot when I play, I LOVE food, and I'm super affectionate to the ones I trust. I'm learning a game called Scent Work (which is really fun) and heard some talk about something else called Barn Hunt where I get to find rats. It sounds right up my alley! I am available to the right home who can help me continue to succeed in my communication skills. Until then, I will always have a place here at Until Such Time!

I was fostered for a while by another of our volunteers while my main trainer was temporarily unable to house me. I fit right in with her pack and charmed her with my hound-ish personality! She decided to make it permanent and signed adoption papers the day my trainer offered to come pick me up. I'm so happy to have found people who UNDERSTAND me and are willing to help me thrive!
