Bruno

Hi, my name is Bruno! I am a male Terrier Mix weighing about 35lbs and born in November of 2023. I was originally dropped off at SPCA Suncoast of West Pasco at only 16 weeks old by someone who didn’t realize what getting a puppy really meant! I spent my days endlessly spinning in my kennel and would get frustrated when it was time to come back inside from my walks. So much so, that I was becoming a hazard to not just the staff, but myself as well. I was adopted out twice and returned both times within three days for typical puppy behavior, even after the amazing staff were transparent about my training needs. If I was adopted and returned a third time, they would have no choice, but to euthanize me! The other option would be letting me live out my life (10+ years) in a kennel… and what kind of life would that be?!

The staff who loved me reached out to as many shelters as they could find, desperately pleading my case. Even though this isn’t the “norm” for UST, they were willing to give me a chance. I am very food and toy motivated. I would do ok with dog-savvy cats, but my first instinct is to chase! I do great with tolerant dogs who are willing to put up with my in-your-face play style and I take correction from them well. I am working hard to learn basic obedience commands, but I'm a smart boy and learning quick. I like people once I get to know them, but can be a little shy at first. I am ready to find my forever family!
